My Desire

A desire hidden with all of us is often ignored or taken as something else. I have a desire burning inside me and it will keep on burning every day until my Saviour returns to the Earth. The desire to be pain free, sorrow free, heartache free, free from darkness. Oh how much it burns but how sweet is the power that can subdue it all.

My Desire

Oh the loving desire in my heart
So deeply hidden within
I begin the day waiting for Him to bring it out
Only He can do it without a doubt
He’ll bring me from the dark to the light
There is not one man on Earth
Who could pull this desire from me
It’s perched way down in my heart
Awaiting the One

Many a day I wander
Hoping to subdue my desire
It burns in me like fire
I yearn for the One
Who can put this fire out
He’s coming soon,
I have no doubt

Oh how I count the days
Till He descends upon the Heaven's rays
Down to Earth
And rescues me from this fire within
and take me home to the true place I desire.

Phillipians 1:6 Being confident of this, that he who began good work in you, will carry it on completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Christmas, the Gift from Heaven

This was my final Christmas poem that I wrote for 2012. As we get ready for the Christmas season 2019, I wanted to come back to this and share with you all.
Merry Christmas everyone! I pray you receive many blessings of good health and prosperity in the coming year. God Bless Everyone! Thank you Lord for this oh so special gift. I will treasure it forever.

Christmas, the Gift of Heaven

Colourful ribbons and bows
Frost upon your nose
Streets lined with glistening lights
Preparations have begun for the
Holiest of nights
Stores are full of shoppers galore
as they buy more and more
T'is the season with much greed
we need to be reminded of a greater need
that stays all year round
not just when the snow falls to the ground
It's the poor and lost that need us the most
so before you give that toast
Open your heart to a time long ago
to an event I'm sure you'll know
Feast your eyes on that big bright star
that shone from afar
that led so many to see Heaven's gift
Look how we've fallen adrift
in a sea of hurts and unforgiveness
Let this be the time to give up those sins
and turn back to His love and kindness
May the Lord's grace and mercy
flood your heart with the desire to care
and may it cause you to share
His wondrous gifts
with each and everyone you meet
be sure to spread His love everyday
not just on Christmas Day
It's the ultimate gift that never stops giving
Straight from Heaven
My kind of gift.

Gift of Jesus

As Christmas draws nearer and the shopping comes to an end, I thought I'd post this reminder of why the season came to be. It's nice to shop and buy but to recieve this special gift is the best reason of all!
I will have one more post for Christmas. I hope you have enjoyed my Christmas poems. Please do leave a comment below or on any of the Christmas poems.
Merry Christmas to All! May the Lord fill your hearts with warmth, love and many blessings in 2013.

The Gift of Jesus

Each year ‘bout December time
In the midst of chaos
Begins the race to find the biggest and best gift of all
We stress and tire
And search up to the wire
At any store or mall around
But can it be done?
Can we really find the biggest and best gift of all?
At the shopping mall?
Truly there must be a bigger and better gift?

Why it’s just under our noses,
The problem is we never stop to smell the roses
So how then could we ever know of the Bigger gift?

It’s larger than the biggest shopping mall,
Can’t fit it in a box
It's made for sharing when opportunity knocks
Whether we search high to the North
Low to the South then out to the East
Back to the West as the oceans flow
Or where the winds blow
It's spread from your house to mine
And laced through our hearts

Still we fail to see
We think it only comes once a year
So lend me your ear and I will tell
Of the Biggest and Best Gift of All
That only One can deliver and surely He has

We must be eternally thankful
For the gift of which I speak is simple you see
It’s God’s gift of Jesus for you and for me.
There is just no other gift that can compare
The Biggest and Best Gift of All
Is ours for the taking.
Jesus was and is the Biggest Gift of  ALL!

Mathew 1:22-23All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet. The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son and they will call him Immanuel which means-God is with us!

I think we need reminders of the reason for the season!

Just another reminder of what should be in our hearts at Christmas time and the whole year through!
MERRY CHRISTMAS FRIENDS and FRIENDS!

Don't Save It till Christmas Day

Glimmering lights bounce of the falling snow
Sweet smells of yummy treats linger slow
The magic fills the air
Christmas shopping with care
but concentrate I cannot
for my thoughts they wander
to a time long ago in a place over yonder
where a special One in a manger lay

The bright shining star at top the tree
reminds of the angels shining high
in the sky for all to see
just where hope of peace for mankind began
His birth oh what a gift for you and for me
Such a gift of love
sent from our Lord above

Decorations on each branch
remind of all the blessings for a second chance
to change our hearts and save our souls
to read and know the word
of our Gracious and Loving Lord

I ponder over songs of peace, love and joy
Savior smiles on every girl and boy
rejoice as families come together
no matter the weather
but Christmas needs to be more
there needs to be no more war
for all to obey and live by God's way

For the world to love and trust
in Jesus Christ is a must
To love and care for one another
as sister and brother
is the desire of The Father
So put down those weapons
silence the nasty tongues
and if it wouldn't be too much of a bother
Say MERRY CHRISTMAS
be kind and loving in every way
today and every day
Don't save it till Christmas Day!

Candy Cane Kisses

OK so I was having fun. I had to come up with a craft for me wee friends(day care) about candy canes. I wanted something a little different. The phrase "candy cane kisses and marshmallow dreams." popped into my head. So I cut out some red candy kiss shapes and had the children glue on white and green strips of paper. Then I thought it needed a little poem. This is where I had some fun. I attached it to each of their "Candy Cane Kisses" They look so cute. This is my fun poem of Christmas. As Christmas draws near I do hope you get smothered in candy cane kisses from your own little ones.

Candy Cane Kisses

Candy cane kisses, oh so yummy and sweet
to receive one is just so neat
only to be followed by marshmallow dreams
that ooze through the stickiest of Heavenly streams
Come on with me and take a whirl
on these peppermint swirls
As we climb to the sky
be sure to take a lick as we fly by
Christmas is here
Let's give a great cheer
Grab hold of someone along the way
And share with them these joys of Christmas Day
Let's fill our hearts with oodles of sticky love
As we float through the streams from above
May the peace and joy inside
Be with you and your kin
today, tomorrow and always
May you spread your own candy cane kisses
and be blessed with many marshmallow dreams
for many years to come.

Have a Very Merry Christmas
and a Blessed year ahead!

Christmas

Christmas

Sparkle, twinkling shining lights
help to take the dark from the night
the colours they glisten and bounce
from snowflake to snowflake
all to the Glory of it's name sake

Jesus had come, Jesus had gone
but it's what He had done
that we remember the most
the message from the Heavenly Host
was clear as could be
but falter did we
as Christmas draws near
reminded are we
of He who came to wipe our sins clear

Each light that twinkles,
each branch adorned
each gift wrapped in pretty paper
A Heavenly reminder
of a babe in a manger
whose purpose was
to spend his life teaching us of the Father's Love
and bring us to our Lord above

This Christmas season friends
I pray for one and all
that as you hang that last Christmas ball
You'll pause a moment and bow to pray
in thanks for that Glorious Day
when our Lord and Saviour came our way

Though He does not walk in the world with us
He's never left our side.
Let's not get lost in all the retail fuss
inside our hearts is where He needs to abide.

Merry Christmas Friends, Families and Foes
Glory to God in the highest
and on Earth peace to men on whom his favour rests

This has been my Christmas Wish and Always will be

I've been waiting for this season for a whole year! Yes, I can never get enough Christmas. The only thing that isn't the same from the Christmases when I was young is the lack of snow. The area where I now live doesn't seem to like having white Christmases, but that's not my point. This world has turned so far away from the real meaning of Christmas, the real reason for the season. There are many people that observe Christmas and celebrate but do we really know what it's all about.
I have written a few poems that are all about Christmas. I love Christmas for all the reasons it's meant to be especially because it's the time when we celebrate our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ's birth. No one knows the exact day this is supposed to be. It all depends on the place in the world where you observe. I believe in God's word and His gift to us. If we observe that on December 25th, then so be it. I celebrate my Lord everyday. Christmas is everyday. The festivities last a few days but Emmanuel is there all year
round! Come Emmanuel! Come!
This is what I wish for Christmas every day and every year!

Christmas Miracle

After all the stores have closed and lights go dim
I can’t help but draw to my thoughts of Him
That beautiful babe so tender and sweet
That would one day suffer a feat
But not be conquered when He fell
All for the glory of One we don't know well

We honour and celebrate every year
Yet seldom think of why He was here
Why should we when we have shopping malls
and video games
What would we have to gain
Shouldn't we feel shame
How could we abandon such a friend
To our selfishness and idolatry,
I hope there is an end

My Lord and Saviour He can save
Us all from a nasty grave
For that’s why this miracle came to be
He had to take the rap for you and me
Are we all so lost

Oh how I long to see that Peaceful Glory of Christmas
That has been lost along the way
My wish for Christmas is simply a Miracle
A Miracle in Faith
Faith that my family and friends
Will be still and listen to the silence of the Lord
In what is the most glorious time
I wish for everyone, everywhere
to stop on Christmas Day if you dare
and love one another
and receive the gift of our Father
again for the First time
Merry Christmas to one and all
Please remember He who took the fall
And reach out to Him
Without Him your future will be grim.

Acts 3:18But this is how God fulfilled what he had foretold through all the prophets saying that his Christ would suffer; Repent then and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord and that he may send the Christ who has been appointed for you-even He must remain in Heaven until the time comes for God to restore everything.

Lost in the Wilderness??

Many times in our walk with The Lord, we feel like He is not hearing us or that He's angry with us. Some may feel that we aren't good enough so he brings us to places that are not so desirable, out of our comfort zone. We might pull back in our faith or do things to show Him we are angry. Really we should be looking to Him more, seeking His face. We shouldn't question why we are there, instead we should look at what can He do for us to help us through, when we are indeed "Lost in the Wilderness". Many times I have felt lost and hopeless. When I turn my eyes to Him, I begin to see His light. I don't understand it, nor do I try but I trust Him. Not trusting and doubting the Lord is a sin.We often want to live in harmony with a status quo. That could just be what is holding us back from finding our way through the lonely wilderness. Looking up and saying "Please forgive my sins", then reaching out and letting Him lead is the way out. There will be many times when we will be lost in the wilderness of life, it is then that we need to ask less and follow more. Then and only then will we see our way out. To seek Him is to Believe.

Lost in the Wilderness

Purpose and meaning are on my heart
I don't understand what's keeping us apart
Why can't I find you in me and me in you
what do I need to do?
You've brought me here to this desert place
why can't I see your face.
Where are you Lord
time in this place I can't afford
Please Lord tell me why you bring me here
what is it that I fear
The wilderness is a nasty place
why can't I just l live with your grace?
What is it Lord you need to me to see
from this place I want to flee
but don't know where to go
I run to the east and to the west
can't get out even when I try my best
I climb to the north and the south
but only cries come from my mouth
The wilderness is a nasty place
why can't I just live with your grace?
What Lord was wrong with where I was
tell me Lord what is your cause
I don't want to face what's in my heart
too much is there to cause me pain
leave it there don't want to live it again
The wilderness is a nasty place
why can't I just live with your grace?

Mathew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Ephesians 1:7-8 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understand.

He Endured it all

This is the reason we have Easter. It's not the bunny or the coloured eggs but it was Jesus' birth and later his death on the cross. You can't have Christmas, without Easter. They go hand in hand. Without the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, I'd hate to see what will happen to the world, when the end finally comes. I give thanks everyday for God's gift to us. I embrace it, I learn it and I love it. No one one earth would sacrifice something so special for me to have a second chance. Today I give praise to God the Father, for His blessings and gifts to me, and to Jesus for enduring it all for us. I'm far from perfect, but He is perfect.
Happy Easter! Sunday is a coming!

Cause You Endured it All for Us

You were but a lamb
Led to the lion’s den
Stripped and strapped
Deserted and alone
We stood to watch as if to condone
How foolish were we
To think we could live without thee
You endured it all for us
Something we will never comprehend
To have such a loving friend
Jesus, Dear Jesus
How can you forgive us?
Why does Our Father set us free?
How could you do this for me?
You endured it all for us
In You we must trust
As our Lord and Saviour
With greatest of Honour
Fear not must we
As we are led by thee
To Our Father above
And are forever grateful of the love
He sent to Earth
Through your birth
You endured it all for us
You are my shepherd now
I follow wherever you lead
I look to you for what I need
No longer will you be
Deserted and alone
For in Our Father’s home
We will roam
Cause You endured it All for Us.

Mathew 16:24-25If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it but whoever loses his life for me will find it.

Happy Thanksgiving my American Friends!

To all my Amercian, sister and brother and family members as you celebrate your Thanksgiving. Here in Canada we celebrated in October but everyday is an opportunity to give thanks. I join you in giving thanks today because I have so much to share. God is truly amazing for he does for us. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! God Bless America and all who dwell.

Thanksgiving Blessing and Prayer

Thank you Lord for the earth on which we roam
Thank you Lord for the land on which we build our homes
Thank you Lord for the morning light
and the moon that gives light to the night
Thank you for the creatures big and small
for in some ways they are a blessing to us all

In these days when the air is cold,
it warms me through to know Your heart is pure like gold
It's over flowing love surrounds us like a glove
I am filled with joy and peace as I set my table here
and hope for my family and friends as they draw near
on this fine fall day
this blessing I will ask if I may

Lord, today I pray for peace and tranquility
in the hearts of all my American sisters and brothers
May you bless each heart with a perfect helping
of grace and healing
Serve up a delightful side of compassion and forgiveness
and please don't don't forget to top it off with and good scoop of mercy
Open all the eyes with hope and humble pies
then tuck into each heart a cup of Heaven's perfect tea
and lay each one down to rest with a careful touch of your joy and admiration
Please pour this blessing onto every nation
near and far
to remind us all we are here because of who You are
Thank you Lord for giving us the one
so our sins could be undone.
May we always put our trust and faith in you
in everything we do
May we seek your blessing each and every day
and not just on Thanksgiving Day.
AMEN

God's Whispers I heard them today

Many times through out my day I think I hear someone speaking to me but when I turn around and no one is there. I used to think I was crazy. One day not long ago, that started changing. I was hearing something. I was hearing whispers from someone so amazingly special.

God's Whispers

They travel with the wind
through the trees
and cool evening breeze
In the hush of morning's first light
they sing out through the robin's song
Sweet somethings He sends
that tell me to Him I belong

Be still and know
is the message falling with the snow
each flake a sprinkle of His love
falling from above
aiming for my heart
away from Him I will not part

His whispers He sends all day
when I'm on my way
They dance and swirl
and call to my inner girl
They ask me for a dance
leaving me in a trance

At times I do not hear
the whispers from my dear
but never does He stop
He'll shout them from the mountain top
to be sure I hear every soft word

Oh my Love how he showers me
with whispers so quietly
that my heart it burns as it waits
and yearns for them to flow my way
and guide me through my day

The whispers they carry me
from morning's first light
through the darkness of night
Whispers comfort when I'm in tears
and guide me through my fears

I thank my Love, my Lord
for these whispers straight from Your word
you still my heart and warm my soul
with every whisper that You send
For to capture my heart is Your goal.

Ps46:5,6,10,11 God is within her, she will not fear. God will help her at the break of day
Be still and know that I am God, I will be exhalted among the nations, I will be exhalted in the earth. The Lord Almighty is with us, the God of Jacob is our fortress

Owl in the Clouds

I Love to watch the clouds. They can be so mystical. Yes they can be dark and full of stormy weather, but the white fluffy ones are the ones I am talking about. When was the last time you laid on the ground and just gazed up at the clouds. I love taking time to do that. I watch the sky often as I walk. A few years back an image of a cross was revealed to me in the crisp morning sunrise. An image I cannot even begin to describe it's splendour. Then just last spring I was out for a walk and I looked up and saw something perculiar. It looked as though the face of a wise old owl had been painted in the sky. I didn't have a camera with me but it was really neat. When I went home I wrote this poem about my Owl in the Clouds. In my search for a picture to add with this, I was unable to come up with a photo that was like what I saw. This one I have here is the closest I'll get to the image I saw. At least it will give you an idea.

Owl in the Clouds

High up in the cluster of clouds
There peering down at me
Was the face of a wise old owl
I felt it stare from under its brow
It’s gaze like that of a father watching his child
I couldn’t help but stare
Back into its glare
Its gaze filled me with such warmth
As though the Lord himself was there
Not taking my eyes off him
I reached up to the sky
Pulses of love wriggled through me
Down to my toes
I felt myself being lifted high
Upon the clouds I did walk
With that wise old owl
Though he did not talk
We danced and flew through
The sky of blue
In and out of the clouds
Then back to the ground
Without a sound
He smiled and returned to the cloud in the sky
As I turned for home I felt his whisper
“I’ll carry you wherever you roam”
I spoke not a word
But continued my walk home
How awesome is that?
A whisper to lift me high
From the owl in the clouds.

Deuteronomy 1:31 and in the desert. There you saw how The Lord you God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reaches this place.

He is forever mine...and I His!

Nov 13, 2012, at the front of my church I stood and gave my testimony as to why I chose Jesus as my Saviour. The peace and renewal I felt from that moment stays with me today and I know will stay with me forever. Around this time I had written this poem about the silly things that we hold with value but not looking at where our values should. It seemed a fitting poem for what was about to happen with me.

My New Life

Pish, posh, pot pourri
All these possessions just for me!
I’ll take this one and that one
Before the day is done!
Not because I need
If surrounded by possessions is the way to go
Why do I feel so low?
I should be on a natural high
But how else can I get by?
There can’t be another way
Can there?

I’ve heard of someone so mighty and big
Who has created this land?
Someone so big He can be seen everywhere
But who can this be?
And why would there be a second chance for me?

Grace, mercy, forgiveness
Is that what will fix my mess
Just to ask for all this
And receive a life of Heavenly Bliss?

WOW!

Then pour it on Oh Mighty One
For with my old life I am done
From now on it’s a new life for me!

Deuteronomy 30:20 And that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give your fathers.
Joshua 24:15 But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Remember Our Fallen Brothers and Sisters

I wrote this as a tribute for Remembrance Day a few years back. It's hard to just give tribute to the fallen soldiers of yesterday but I also have total respect and love for the soldiers of today's wars. God Bless You All!

To the soldiers then and now, there isn't a day that I don't feel blessed because of the work you do for my freedom! I thank The Lord God Almighty for giving you the call to serve in the name of peace. May one day everyone lay down their guns for good. Thank you dear soldiers. Thank you.

Soldiers Dear on Remembrance Day
Listen here to a tale that happened
not so long ago
but when it will forever end we do not know
 Soldiers strong and bold
their courage never grew old
They gave up homes and lives
to help keep us alive
Tucked into their beds of mud and bugs
while we continue to share special moments and hugs
to protect the innocent was their goal.
Sons and daughters
brothers and sisters
and fathers alike
all gathered amongst strangers
to become rangers
in the fight of their lives
all for me and you

Though some have gone
before the dawn
their purpose stayed true
they wanted peace and unity just like me and you
senseless battles they did fight
to help try and make things right
to these soldiers what do we owe?
a great amount of thanks
for all the battles on the banks
of enemy rivers
to think of it gives me shivers
So join me will you please
with prayers of thanks and blessings too
for our veterans near and far
because of the special thing they did for me and you
Let us remember them all not just today but EVERYDAY!

Nothing Compares to Him

God created the Heavens and Earth. He created each and every soul. There is no one like my God.
I can't help but sing His praises for all He has done, is doing and will do in the future. There isn't a long explanation as this is what is on my heart right now, right at this moment.

Yahweh, Nothing Compares to You

Can anyone do like You?
Can anyone grow a tree from a seed
and supply the birds with every need?
Who could split the mountains and valleys so right?
and separate day and night?
Who would dare to hang such wonderful lights in the sky?
and make creatures that swim and fly?
Who loves the world so unconditionally
and whose works are undoubtedly
incomparably, remarkable?
Who pressed on even when His creations came undone
and to fix it all, gave His only Son?
My mind thinks of only one who is deserving
My heart tells of only one who is worthy
of every praise
for each of my days here in this world
Forever a place in my heart I will hold
The One who caused this earth to be
extra special for my sisters, brothers and me
Forever true, My Yahweh
My Saviour, My Creator.

Psalm 145:3 Great is The Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.

Alone and Scared

Have you ever felt alone and scared? Who did you turn to? Are you still in that pit? Do you know how? How about a boost? I know someone that can help.

Alone and Scared

Here in this deep dark pit
Alone and scared I sit
weeping yet unheard
passer byes just walk on
Why am I in this place?
can't seem to climb this wall
each time I try I fall
I cry but no one hears
I'm left drowning in my fears
Alone and scared
weeping yet unheard
broken and hurt
Will I forever be covered with this dirt
Left alone here in this deep dark pit?
Where can I go?
I just don't know
Alone and scared
weeping yet unheard
who will even care if I should fade away
don't care to see another day
Now a blinding light shines in causing me to turn away
I see a hand reach down out from that light
and pull me up with all it's might
It dusts me off and strips me down
then  washes me clean
and places over me
the cleanest, whitest gown I've ever seen
No longer am I alone and scared
I weep no more
He takes me in his arms whispers softly in my ear
"Fear not, for I will always be here"
I am rescued, I am healed
into my soul God's love has been revealed.
I'm lifted from the darkest pit
and placed in his palm
to be forever His
I am His and He is mine
together in each other we will shine.

Psalms 25:15-21 My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only he will release my feet from the snare. Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.
Look upon my affliction and my distress and take away all my sins.
Guard my life and rescue me; let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.
May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope is in you.

UNITY

The Body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts, and though all the parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. For we were baptized by one Spirit, into one body 1 Corinthians 12: 12-13. We as Christians are united by this. We serve for the glory of the Lord. And as Christian we must stand together in support and love for one another.

United We Are

One hand
one heart
one soul
It's you who keeps me whole

Two feet
Two eyes
One path
It's you who carries me from where danger lies

One life
one world
one Creator
It's you I adore

One Spirit
One Father
One Son
It's Your will to be done

Forever and always
United we will be with
One mind
One body
One heart
Awaiting a fresh start
That only you can give

7 Candles

Candles are beautiful. I love them. I love to stare at their flame as it flickers. I love what they often represent. Tonight I light 7 candles because Jesus is my light. As long as my light is forever I can get through anything life throws at me.

7 Candles

I light a candle of repentance
As I kneel to pray for deliverance
and pray for Him to shed some light
on my messed up day
I ended my day in darkness like the night
I must now confess before I sleep all the sins I do keep

I light a candle for forgiveness
for all the sins I do confess
Conviction is near
The Lord's wrath I do fear
I am truly sorry for all I've done

I light a candle for mercy and grace
Even though I do sin
His anger holds no place
His love will conquer all
and He will catch me when I fall

I light a candle for hope
as I begin a new day
in hopes My Lord will pave my way
as I travel down the road to serve
and that He'll guide me around each curve

I light a candle for faith
that my daily bread He will bring
filled with His strength and wisdom for my day
and to Him praises I will forever sing

I light a candle for love
A love so grand
that it can only come from God's Mighty Hand
May it be forever flowing
into our hearts and forever will this candle stay glowing

I light a candle in remembrance
of my second chance
For God so loved the world He sent is only son
so that His will could be done
We are loved and free
Keep this candle flame within our hearts
burning forever
and He will be there with us throughout each and every endeavour.

John 8:12When Jesus spoke to the people again he said "I am the light of the world, Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life"

About Me

My photo
We all have gifts given to us by The Lord God above even before we were a glint in our parents eye. The Lord designed each one of us to have a gift. What we choose to do with the gifts he gives us is what matters. I chose to share my gift with the world. I'm not a professional. I have had no educational training in poetry writing other than basic english that they teach you in school. All my poems are inspired by God's word and the desire to have a better relationship with him. I have also been inspired by life events that God has led me to healing for. I am a mother of 2 boys trying to do my best to please the father and raise my boys to live the same way.
