Prayer for 2018

Since life gets in the way and I have been unable to really focus on my poetry, I have taken to writing an annual prayer for the year. I hope this prayer will become yours as well.
But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. (Is 40:31)

Dear Lord I thank you for another year

for the lessons I have learned

and the gift of Your undeserved grace

When life was too hard to face

You held me altogether

And kept me in the palm of your hand

Dear Lord I thank you for my health

That though it might not be perfect

You kept it from getting worse.

I know I’m not the easiest to help

Forgive me please for my stubbornness

Lord, I pray that 2018 will be a year

That I turn away from fear

I turn away from doubt

I turn away from my own understandings

And turn towards you

Dear Lord I thank you for the people

in my life you chose to keep

And for those you added

A blessing they became

Lord, I pray for all my friends

That do not yet know the love you have to give

Will turn to you and see all that you will forgive

Lord, I pray for strength and courage

Wisdom and wellness for everyone I know

I pray your will be done here and around the world

Lord, May you guide our leaders in

Municipal, provincial, national and world governments

In all the decisions to be made to help our world

So we can be a people you will be pleased with

Lord, I pray for all people, that they turn from themselves

Reach out to their neighbors and remember the Love of Christ

That is in us all.

We’ve somehow shut it out
now let 2018 be the year that we open all our hearts

May the Love of Christ shine through each soul upon this Earth

And Lord, May your church be heard loud and clear

Not just on Sundays but every day.

In Jesus Name I ask your blessing on the world In 2018.

About Me

My photo
We all have gifts given to us by The Lord God above even before we were a glint in our parents eye. The Lord designed each one of us to have a gift. What we choose to do with the gifts he gives us is what matters. I chose to share my gift with the world. I'm not a professional. I have had no educational training in poetry writing other than basic english that they teach you in school. All my poems are inspired by God's word and the desire to have a better relationship with him. I have also been inspired by life events that God has led me to healing for. I am a mother of 2 boys trying to do my best to please the father and raise my boys to live the same way.
