Above the Storms

Here is another song, written as part of the song writing course I am taking. I will fly on the wings of my eagle, above the storms.

Above the Storms

Monday morning rolls around

Jump out of bed with two feet on the ground

Coffee spilled, toast is burning

The end of the day I’m already yearning

Late for a meeting

Forget the warm office greeting

Freshen up have to look my best

Five new clients is the boss’s request

Chorus

Above the storms Lord carry me

On eagles wings I will fly

Over the mountains, across the sea

Riding on his wings above the storms

Lord carry me

Can’t forget the teacher’s meeting

Need to keep my son from failing

Speeding fast, ran the light

SMASH! Ah Man now I’m late

It’s going to be a long night

Can I have a re-do for today?

How did I go so wrong?

All these thoughts are dancing in my head

I don’t know what lies ahead

Chorus

Above the storms Lord carry me

On eagles wings I will fly

Over the mountains, across the sea

Riding on his wings above the storms

Lord carry me

Bridge

The future looks grim and is unknown

Through a strength that is not my own

I’ll push on above the storms

Above the storms (singer’s freedom here)

Chorus

Above the storms Lord carry me

On eagles wings I will fly

Over the mountains, across the sea

Riding on his wings above the storms

Lord carry me

Repeat and fade…..

Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait on the Lord, Shall renew their strength: They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

There Can Be No Doubt

Well I have been taking a song writing course as an elective for a diploma I am working for. This course has been pulling me out of slump and feeding my creative juices. Albeit, it's been a struggle writing on demand but I guess I am doing alright. Here is one of my songs that I have written for that course. I'll let it explain itself.

There Can Be No Doubt

Some believe You are an ancient story

Made by man to tell our history

How can they be right

Would rather spend a lifetime seeking your truth

Than spending a thousand days in doubt

For it seems that where I go

You are there

A top the trees in the rustling leaves

O’er the winding hills

In the darkness and the light

I have no doubt

Chorus:

Keep my eyes wide open

I don’t want to miss a moment

From the first light of day

To the twinkling stars of night

Be the air that I breathe and all that I see

Flowing through the canvas

Are reds, yellows, and blues

Springing alive with images of you

Where then can there be doubt?

This ancient myth seems to be the truth

The proof is all around

From the creatures of the air

To the critters on the ground,

There can be no doubt

Chorus:

Keep my eyes wide open

I don’t want to miss a moment

From the first light of day

To the twinkling stars of night

Be the air that I breathe and all that I see

Twice for Twice in a Lifetime

This one is actually a remake of a poem from a few years back. I tried to make it more song worthy. August 3rd marks 17 years since she was taken from me a 2nd time. The first time was due to adoption, the second time Mom passes away. Either way twice in a lifetime is too much to be taken away. The heartache stays deep no matter the time that passes. Knowing at least I know the next time we will be together, will be in eternity, helps me through my days but the sadness never goes away.

Twice in a Lifetime

You were young and scared

And I knew you cared

The day they took me away

Was a painful day

Forever etched in my heart

That devil he thought he won

My faith seemed to come undone

I had to find a way to cope

To keep alive the hope

Year went into year

My hope grew dim

Then one day your letters began to appear

Your words were salve to my soul

My hope returned, my was heart full

Bridge

Together again forever this time

Times for healing

Times for breaking down and building up

Times for weeping

Times for laughing

Times for second chances

Then came that haunting call

I felt like I had hit the wall

Don’t take her from me, Lord not again,

not today

Then you were gone

Separated once more,

How could I go on?

That devil he thought he won

My faith seemed to come undone

I had to find a way to cope

To keep alive the hope

Losing you twice in a lifetime is more than I could bear

Then the Savior called to me

He said he’d ease our pain and set us free

He would give us eternity

About Me

My photo
We all have gifts given to us by The Lord God above even before we were a glint in our parents eye. The Lord designed each one of us to have a gift. What we choose to do with the gifts he gives us is what matters. I chose to share my gift with the world. I'm not a professional. I have had no educational training in poetry writing other than basic english that they teach you in school. All my poems are inspired by God's word and the desire to have a better relationship with him. I have also been inspired by life events that God has led me to healing for. I am a mother of 2 boys trying to do my best to please the father and raise my boys to live the same way.
