Protect Our Children

Today's poem is all about taking care of our children and raising them to know The Lord and enjoy the blessings he gives. There are many fine things in this world that any child would love to have. But the blessings we receive from The Lord should be their first desire. We spend too much time giving them worldly things in hopes they will be happy. Is it really truly what they need or want. How many times do you as a parents come across a game or book or anything that you remember doing as a child and wish you could do it again. Well I know a lot of us are more frail and can't do cartwheels. but when was the last time you put everything down played like you were a kid again. That's what our children need to see us do. They need to see mom, dad, grandma, grandpa auntie, uncle turn into a kid again. Not forever but just for a moment. We are after all God's children so why can't we act like one just for a moment? Go ahead jump in that puddle, slide down that slide, play tag or hide and seek. If we want children to grow up strong we need to set the example. By praying, playing, speaking, walking, laughing, learning, forgiving, repenting this is how our children will get the most out of life. And who knows ya might have fun yourself. So stop growing up, let God guide you, play with that jar of play doh but most of all embrace the life of your child. Show them it's okay to be young, then teach them how to stay young while getting old. Protect them from the worldly things that take away their innocence.

Protect God’s Children We Must

Hands held, smiles on
The children are out for the day
Their only care is what to play
Come on now let’s take a peek
They are just about to play hide and seek.

So curious and adventurous
Carefree and spirited
Nothing seems to let them down

Yet somewhere along the way
they become lost and leave it all behind
Forgetting where to turn when in a bind
Try we must to bring them home
For some feel it’s too late
And choose a different fate

So curious and adventurous
Carefree and spirited
Nothing seems to let them down

Let’s hold hands, across the lands
Spread our smiles for miles
Bow and pray for our children
In hopes they will stay
Where they can frolic and play

So curious and adventurous
Carefree and spirited
Nothing seems to let them down

Sounds simple enough
All that protecting and stuff
Obedience can only come when we
Ourselves heed this advice
When we are lost and start to roam
Who is there to bring us home

So curious and adventurous
Carefree and spirited
Nothing seems to let them down

Our Lord will be there with open arms
Stand firm in the Lord
For His strength we can afford
His umbrella is large and protects us all
Just need to tear down the wall

So curious and adventurous
Carefree and spirited
Nothing seems to let them down

We must lift up our children
To the Lord in hopes He’ll bless and protect them
Knowing our children are sheltered by the Lord
Is but only half our battle.
 showing our children the way
is a command we must embrace
each and every day

Mathew14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

This poetry is not only Praise to God but it is also a testimony of His work in my life. Even when I haven't paid attention, He was there through it all. God Loves Me even though I am not perfect and that's enough for me.

About Me

My photo
We all have gifts given to us by The Lord God above even before we were a glint in our parents eye. The Lord designed each one of us to have a gift. What we choose to do with the gifts he gives us is what matters. I chose to share my gift with the world. I'm not a professional. I have had no educational training in poetry writing other than basic english that they teach you in school. All my poems are inspired by God's word and the desire to have a better relationship with him. I have also been inspired by life events that God has led me to healing for. I am a mother of 2 boys trying to do my best to please the father and raise my boys to live the same way.
