She wants to Leave

In follow up to Frozen In Fear, I wanted to write something that was a bit more central in nature when it comes to abuse. One of the aspects of an victims life is the fear of leaving. It my be hindered by fear, embarassment, no self worth or poor self image. It could be that we just become so broken we don't feel we can be fixed so rather than live a life of painful memories, we stay and continue living in pain. It's easy to say why doesn't the person leave the situation. I never understood it either until these truths about my own experience came to light. You just live day in and day out, thinking it will be over and the person will change. You hope for this and then it happens again and again until you internalize it so much that you believe what the abuser is saying and you do what you are told to minimize the strikes. I didn't stand up for myself, I let myself cowar. I am hoping that through these poems, I can give victims what they need to start turning things and getting out. It's not an easy thing to do but with the strength of The Lord you can beat this! Reach out to The Lord today and ask him for help. I pray today as I post this and  you are reading, that God is there waiting to meet you and take your broken body and soul and mend it as he did me.
Please sisters and brothers if there is anyone you know who is or could be suffering abuse share this with them. Pray that they see the light and realize they are worth more than they know.

She Wants to Leave

Lost in a world
abused and abandoned
no where to go
no value or worth
or so she thought
A life of solitude and scars
just didn't get her far
She wants to leave
but can't seem to get through that door
She's worth so much more
All she knows is to listen to all his demands
or suffer the power of that monster's  hands
caught in a bondage of abuse
she feels she is of no other use
She wants to leave
but can't seem to get through that door
She is worth so much more
Escape she must from his disgusting lust
She cries herself to sleep
 quietly of course
wouldn't want to wake that creep
and make it any worse
Tonight is different that the rest
She vows she will not rest
until she's free of him
Who can she call on?
She wants to leave but can't seem to get through that door
She's worth so much more
A light shines bright
and diminishes the night
She sees a hand reach out from the dark
and grabs hold with all It's might
He's here to save
and asks her to be brave
She wants to leave
and through that door she goes
no looking back will she do
cause she knows He will bring her through.

  1. Galatians 5:11

It is for freedom that Christ has set me free!

Stand firm! Don't be burdened again by the yoke of slavery.

This poetry is not only Praise to God but it is also a testimony of His work in my life. Even when I haven't paid attention, He was there through it all. God Loves Me even though I am not perfect and that's enough for me.

About Me

My photo
We all have gifts given to us by The Lord God above even before we were a glint in our parents eye. The Lord designed each one of us to have a gift. What we choose to do with the gifts he gives us is what matters. I chose to share my gift with the world. I'm not a professional. I have had no educational training in poetry writing other than basic english that they teach you in school. All my poems are inspired by God's word and the desire to have a better relationship with him. I have also been inspired by life events that God has led me to healing for. I am a mother of 2 boys trying to do my best to please the father and raise my boys to live the same way.
